Our Proven History
Sensata has been supplying the automotive industry for over 30 years. Our portfolio includes coolant level sensors, transmission range sensors, and pressure switches and transducers.

A proven automotive performer, versions of CAS have been in mass production since 1992. CAS is an extension of our recognized world leadership in automotive pressure transducers, sharing much of the proven packaging technology with that highly successful product.

Product Technology
CAS uses the combined expertise accumulated from several highly regarded Sensata products including:

Thick film, ceramic–based sensing element from the Sensata automotive pressure transducer
Alloy 42 metal beam
Application–specific IC
Controlled expansion alloy (for minimal thermal error) from Sensata thermostat metals

Sensors & Controls CAS is a capacitive–based sensor that provides a linear output voltage directly proportional to acceleration input. Integral signal conditioning electronics incorporate a custom designed integrated circuit and provide an accurate, stable signal over a wide operating temperature range (-40° to 85°C).
