Darts200-D
Darts high temperature sensors – pt200 platinum resistor – gas temperature measurement

The Darts200-D sensor uses the same measurement principle as the TS200 series, so the electrical behavior is exactly the same. It is also designed with the same dimensions as the TS200 series, which makes it perfectly interchangeable with the TS200.

The main difference with the TS200 is the closed housing design. It is designed for applications that rarely exceed 850°C. The closed housing design is mechanically very robust and is not affected by pollution from the environment.
Because it is not affected by moisture, the orientation of the sensor is not restricted.

The most typical application for this sensor is the EGR system.

Characteristics
Sensor Element PT-200 platinum resistor
Measurement Principle The resistance of the PT-200 element increases with temperature based on the positive temperature coefficient of platinum electrical resistance
Temperature Range -40°C to +850°C (continuous) 900°C (survival)
Accuracy ±2.5°C from -40°C to 280°C
± 0.9% from 280°C to 850°C (including 500hrs ageing at 850°C)
Connector Connector chosen by customer

Applications

For Cost Optimized High Temperature Applications:
Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC)
Particle Filters (DPF)
Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR)
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)

But Also Applicable for:
Charged Air Measurement

Protect Engine and Exhaust Components
Diagnose Systems for OBD (e.g. DPF, SCR, EGR)
Control System Operation (Regulate Temperature Windows of Systems)

Advantages
Thin Film Platinum temperature sensors are a proven technology for exhaust gas temperature measurements with many applications running for all levels of emission standards worldwide
Optimal cost versus robustness properties by use of stainless steel material
Fast response time by reduced tip diameter and thermal decoupling especially at high gas velocities
High absolute accuracy up to 850ºC by thermal decoupling of measurement element and housing
High linearity
Flexibility in insertion depth: 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 70mm (more information can be found at the tailor made sensors section)
Straight and bended configurations for rear housing, 0º to 120º to facilitate installation on the engine (more information can be found at the tailor made sensors section)
Fail safe
